The Chinese Exclusion Act
The sources I used were http://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/intrel/chinex.htm,http://www-marine.stanford.edu/HMSweb/cea.htm, and http://www.camla.org/history/exclact.htm The Chinese Exclusion act was in 1882 where the United States government was coming up with the conclusion that Chinese laborers in the United States puts people in danger and makes the United States in danger so the government decided that “Chinese laborers to the United States be, and the same is hereby, suspended, and during such suspension it shall not be lawful for any Chinese laborer to come, or, having so come after the expiration of said ninety days, to remain within the United States.”<br>The law is aimed at Chinese immigrants and the United States government created it and part of it said “That the master of any vessel who shall knowingly bring within the United States on such vessel, and land or permit to be landed, and Chinese laborer, from any foreign port of place, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars for each and every such Chinese laborer so brought, and may be also imprisoned for a term not exceeding one year.”<br>The consequences of it is that Chinese immigrants might risk their lives to come here like going on ships of snakeheads (people who smuggle immigrants into the country.) Or some other dangerous way like trying to build their own boats to come to the United States. My response to this is that why did the United States government have to stop all Chinese immigrants from coming to the United States anymore, and why is it only aimed at Chinese immigrants not others?

The "chinese exclusion Act" is mainly aiming at the chinese immigrants who came to America for a better life. In this treaty it mention a few things. One of the things were that the chinese needs proper paper and certificates to come to the US which means that they cannot sneak in with the help of snakeheads. Another thing that was mention are that the US government won't treat chinese immigrants citizens of their country and they cannot gain full citizenship. The last thing that was important was that chinese laborers in the US are being suspended because the US felt that laborers were endangering good order of certain localities so within 10 years the chinese laborer would get suspended. The creator of this treaty was the US government. They are telling the chinese the laws and rules of America. The cause of these acts are that if you broke the law you would have the pay a fine which could be up to 500 dollars or serve 1 year in jail. I think that the Americans are discrimnating the chinese immigrants knowing that they don't understand such laws/treaty and why are they only aiming at the chinese immigrants? There are different culture immigrants that settle in America from a different country.

In the Chinese Exclusion Act I used the sources http://www.civics.com-online.org/library/formatted/texts/chinese_act.html,http://www-marine.stanford.edu/HMSweb/cea.html and http://www.cetel.org/1882_exclusion.html. In the Chinese Exclusion Act, the aim is towards Chinese Immigrants and Chinese people. This happened during 1882, and this was an act to take away certain treaty conditions from Chinese people. This was created or made by the United States Government. In the treaty that was written it was saying that Chinese people are not allowed to come on the land if they have been believed that they have been guilty of a crime, they were to be punished by going to jail or paying a fine of five hundred dollars, that Chinese Immigrants are not allowed to give work if they have came before ninety days after the act was made, they would need to make a list of the each persons information before coming to America, to leave from America the people would need to get papers signed by the collector. Also that they were not allowed into the United States if they don¡¦t have the proper papers, if the people don¡¦t get permission to come to the U.S they would be fined, Chinese people were not allowed to become citizens of U.S. The consequences that they have are to pay fines, to go to jail, and to not be allowed in the United States. I think that just giving so many different kinds of laws for Chinese people, that it seems like the United States are trying to get them away from here. I think it is so unfair of all those laws they have to follow just to come to America. This is discrimination towards the chinese people, just by reading the laws.

The chinese exclusion act was made by the US goverment. This act was aimed at all the chinese immigrants coming to america.this law was made to because the goverment believed that chinese immigrants where an endangers to "certain localties within the territory. It was made so that the coming of any chinese immigrant to come to the United States, any chinese immigrant that comes would have punnishment(for being unlawful.) or will be sent back on the same ship coming from china.some of the conceqences where that chinese immigrants couldn't make money and support family well but the americans could not either because they could not make money from chinese traveling tickets houseing ect.

Forty-Seventh Congress. Session I. 1882 Chapter 126.-An act to execute certain treaty stipulations relating to Chinese Preamble. Whereas, in the opinion of the Government of the United States the coming of Chinese laborers to this country endangers the good order of certain localities within the territory thereof: Therefore,
The Chinese Exclusion Act was created by the US government and was aimed at all the Chinese immigrants coming to America. This law was passed because the government believed that Chinese immigrants would endanger certain localities within the territory. It was designed to control the Chinese immigrant entering the United States, punishing these people as illegal aliens or sent back on the same ship on which they arrived. Some of the consequences stopped Chinese immigrants from making money to support their families but the Americans were also stopped from making money on the Chinese immigrants as well.
This law was so strong that the Captain on the ship that brought the Chinese immigrants to this country would be charged with a misdemeanor with a fine of up to five hundred dollars and the laborer would be placed in prison for up to one year.
The law was written to identify Chinese laborers who were in the United States by November 17, 1880 or were here ninety days after the passage of this law to give them the documents that showed that they were legally here in this country to work.
Diplomatic Chinese Government officials traveling on the business of that government to this country were not part of this law. No state court or court of the United States could change this law or admit the Chinese as citizens and all laws written before were changed by this law.
In my opinion, this was wrong and against the constitution as the Asians helped to make our country what it is today and when the constitution was written it was to open our country to others to make us one country with many nationalities and races and this changed the constitution and its first laws.
The Chinese exclusion act was made in 1882. It was a racist act aimed toward the Chinese people. The White people made the Chinese pay taxes and made laws for them because they didn't want the Chinese to succeed. The law was banning the Chinese from immigrating to America because there were more and more Chinese occupying jobs, and they had competition in the job market. This Act lasted for 10 years. The Chinese hated this act but they couldn't do anything about it, they felt they were really discriminated.
The White people created this Act. White immigrants, like from Ireland or Russia who also had problems in their old country and also suffered some discrimination saw that the Chinese were the ones who were most oppressed and discriminated at that time, so they raised their own status. So, the Chinese were discriminated by many groups. Even though the exclusion act was still present, Chinese continued to immigrate to America anyway, but if they were caught, they were insulted, put in jail, beaten up and sometimes killed. TEXT

The Chinese Exclusion Act was aimed toward the Chinese. For ten years, chinese were left out in America because they were not able to come in or if they are in America, they would have to move out. As you tell that the US wanted no Chinese in Amercia.

the chinese exclusion act started in the 1850's and continued for 60 more years. It basicely assured that chinese immigrants could not go to America (were not allowed). The U.S. government did this because there were to many Chinese immigrants coming to America, and the whites (A.K.A white demons) think that they are getting their jobs taken away from chinese immigrants. They thought Correctly. This is a sigh of racism and exclusion.
